2. The data we collect about you
When you visit our website, we may collect and process information which has been provided by you to us. This may include:
- Your name (when signing up to our email newsletter, entering a competition, submitting a contract form, or registering to apply for vacancies at Poundstretcher);
- Your contact information including email address, phone number and postal address (when signing up to our email newsletter, entering a competition, submitting a contact us form, or registering to apply for vacancies at Poundstretcher);
- Your internet protocol address and details of your browsing activity during visits to our website (IP addresses are anonymised), including traffic and location data (see Cookies section below for more information);
- When applying for vacancies, your CV; contents of which may include contact information (address and telephone number), education history, qualifications, employment history, medical information, information relating to criminal offences and referee name and contact information (we may request further information relating to your application, such as salary expectations and right to work in the UK).
- When communicating with our support centre, we will record your contact details so that we can liaise with you and we may use those details to liaise with any regulatory body such as the ICO, trading standards or the Police,
- When visiting our stores we operate CCTV in all of our stores and facial recognition software in some of our stores to support the investigation and detection of crime, which will record your image temporarily. Please see our CCTV policy for further details.
We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this privacy notice.
We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences other than if we have to engage with regulatory bodies, such as the Police. For example, in stores where we use facial recognition to detect crime, then we may share this information with third parties such as other retailers and the Police, so that they can identify, investigate and prosecute any crimes committed in our stores or against our colleagues.
This website is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.
If you fail to provide personal data
Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with goods or services).
