Shoppers Brave the Rain for Dorchester Store Opening

Stephen Wright |

Bargain hunters turned out in force to celebrate Poundstretcher officially opening its brand-new store in Dorchester earlier today.

The popular discount retailer threw open the doors to its latest store on South Street in Dorchester at 9am on Wednesday, February 18 - and despite the wet weather - more than 100 people excited shoppers came along to celebrate.

They were joined by the Mayor of Dorchester, Andy Canning, and Deputy Mayor Robin Potter, who helped mark Poundstretcher's arrival in the town.

Inside, shoppers can expect a huge range of branded and non-branded products across clothing, DIY, gardening, health & beauty, home décor, snacks, storage, sweets and drinks. It is also home to the Pet Hut, where savvy shoppers can buy hundreds of products for their furry friends at discounted prices.

Andy Atkinson, Chief Executive Officer of Poundstretcher, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have officially opened our new store in Dorchester. The welcome from the local community has been incredible, and we look forward to serving customers from Dorchester and the surrounding area for many years to come.”
